Abstract

This research, entitled "Examining the Social Dimensions in Rousseau's Philosophy and His View of Man in the State of Nature," emphasizes that man is inherently good. Civilization then emerges, property begins, greed and avarice arise, conflict erupts among members of society, and chaos ensues. Therefore, a governing authority is necessary to ensure security and safety. Citizens voluntarily relinquish their rights and freedoms to the authority in order to establish justice, equality, and security within society. The social contract is reflected in realistic artistic productions. The current research comprises four chapters. The first chapter addresses the research problem, its importance and necessity, its objective, its scope, and the definition of terms. The research problem focuses on answering the following question: What are the social dimensions and their representations in the Realist school according to Rousseau's theories? The second chapter dealt with the theoretical framework in two sections. The first section included the social dimensions of the social contract according to Rousseau, and the second section: the realist school and its manifestations in reflecting social reality. The third section included an analysis of research samples from the realist school according to Rousseau’s vision, and the fourth section included the results, conclusions, proposals and recommendations.
