Abstract

The researcher adopted her study topic, which was built upon a fundamental problem centered on examining “The Aesthetics of Identity in Babylonian Art.” Identity is regarded as a concept with aesthetic and semantic dimensions that manifest through the formal structure of the artwork, seeking to achieve continuity, communication, and the preservation of its semantic features. The first chapter of the research included the objective of the study, which is to uncover “The Aesthetics of Identity in Babylonian Civilization.” The theoretical framework addressed the aesthetic features of identity in Babylonian civilization, and at its conclusion, the indicators derived from it were highlighted. The third chapter covered the research community, which comprised the artistic works of the Babylonian civilization. The researcher examined numerous images and related sources, such as books, journals, and internet sites. The research sample consisted of four artworks executed in both relief and three-dimensional sculpture. The researcher then relied on the indicators of the theoretical framework to build the tool for analyzing the sample. The fourth chapter was devoted to presenting the results, conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions.
