Abstract

The research, titled "The Mechanisms of Displacement in Impressionism and Post-Impressionism," comprises a modest scientific effort to uncover the mechanisms of displacement in Impressionism and Post-Impressionism through selected artistic productions from paintings by Impressionist, Neo-Impressionist, and Post-Impressionist artists. Based on philosophical, intellectual, and aesthetic propositions, art has shifted away from the traditional, classical view, adopting a fundamental, modernist idea characterized by its constantly changing intuitive movement. This idea is that art encompasses both the internal and external worlds of man, with the aim of bringing about changes in the nature of public taste. Thus, art seeks to change by granting the "now" a lasting quality, shifting standard time to absolute time, and replacing the fleeting, accidental with a renewable activity. The research results and conclusions are examined in four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the methodological framework, explaining the research problem, the importance and need for the research, the research objective, the research limits, and defining terms. The research problem is summarized in answering the question: The following: (What are the mechanisms of displacement in Impressionism and Post-Impressionism), and the aim of the research is to identify the mechanisms of displacement in Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, while the second chapter is based on two topics (the first topic: displacement in art and the second topic: displacement in Impressionism and Post-Impressionism), and this chapter also included the indicators that the theoretical framework ended with, and the third chapter The researcher dealt with the research procedures, including the research community (20 artworks) and the research sample, which consisted of four paintings in order to achieve the research goal, while the fourth chapter included the research results, conclusions, recommendations, proposals, sources and references.
