Abstract

One of the primary functions of political socialization is to prepare the individual and provide him with the ideas, information, customs, and values that prepare him to engage with his surroundings and determine his approach to the events he and his society face. Political socialization has its own channels for instilling these values in the individual, such as family, friends, educational institutions, the media, and political parties, which guide the individual and determine the nature of his behavior. These stations or channels through which the individual passes play a role in shaping his opinions, not only politically, but also across all social and economic levels. Consequently, his choices will be determined based on what he receives through these channels, which will shape his life path and personal traits. This issue does not stop at a specific age, but rather continues throughout his life. When we discuss politics, we find that these channels play an effective role in shaping the individual's political choices, determining the nature of his political participation, and formulating political positions regarding the events facing the country. Consequently, if these channels have been directed by the government in a specific political direction, you will find that the individual has been fed this information and has developed political orientations and choices that are consistent with the ideas of the guiding party. When talking about Iraqi society in particular, we find that the unstable conditions, political events, problems and crises that society has experienced have been reflected on the Iraqi citizen and have created a set of skills and attitudes that enable him to adapt to his situation and live reasonably, adapting to reality to compensate for the previous deprivation. Here we would like to reveal This research explores the role of political socialization in guiding the individual politically and shaping his political behavior, as well as identifying the impact of the events that Iraqi society has experienced on the political behavior of the citizen, and the impact of his upbringing on shaping his political choices, and identifying whether this behavior is stable or fluctuating. It also explores the possibility of making his political role more effective by proposing several solutions that contribute to making his political participation effective in society..
